CE marking is a certification mark that indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area. The CE marking is also found on products sold outside the EEA that are manufactured in, or designed to be sold in, the EEA. The new UKCA mark stands for UK Conformity Assessment. It's a marking that shows that a product meets the requirements to be sold in Great Britain.
We can offer a consultancy service to support you to CE mark your own equipment after initial build or alteration/upgrade. We've been through this process a lot of times, and can guide you through what can either be a simple process or a minefield depending upon how it's handled. There are harmonised standards and the various types therein available to help reduce the work required and we can help identify the correct ones and how to interpret them to maximum benefit.
Risk Assessment
The first step is to assess any machine/product for any risks or hazrads. This risk assessment is required to consider the machine/product throughout its lifecycle, and as such include maintenance and cleaning. Then all identified hazards need to be assessed with regard to the risk of injury.
Risk Reduction
Once the risks have been categorised we then need to look at reducing the likelihood and severities. We can work closely with you to come up with a sensible solution.
Technical Files
The technical file is a comprehensive information pack that covers the design, construction and conformity to the appropriate directives. This will typically include operating instructions, schematics, risk assessments and design calculations.
